Femme Fetch: CK ONE Skin Illuminator
My approach to makeup has always been about releasing the glow within or at least looking as much like J.lo as possible. In steps the CK One Skin Illuminator from Calvin Klein to give you that undeniable glow. I am loving the big push from fashion to cosmetics taking place with a lot of the big design houses, e.g. Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Tom Ford, Calvin Klein, etc. The entire CK One line is pretty solid and with some minor tweaking in the next few years, I think it could be a solid all around beauty resource for us all.
So let’s talk the CK One Skin Illuminator:
- 3 universally flattering shades (VERY FEMME!!!!)
- great on bare or made-up skin
- iridescent pearlescence (no shimmer/glitter overload)
- lightweight and long-wearing
- the packaging ( loose top makes it horrible for travel and squeezing it out sometimes gives way to much product.)
Apply the Illuminator right along the highs of the cheekbone and blend lightly with fingers or sponge. It really works wonders. The positive about this set of illuminators is that they truly work for everyone, I mean EVERYONE. What is even more great is the entire line has a good base of makeup to select from for most people. Rome was not built in a day, so I look forward to the expansion of the line.
Available at all Ulta locations and online!!!!
Femme Tip: Try the CK One Cream to Powder Bronzing or Blush Duo under the illuminator and get a super intense glow. Go from J.lo to Goddess Aphrodite on the beaches of Brazil!!! Trust Me.

highqualityfashion: Prada FW 14 Backstage Femme Boy: Fresh skin and tons of mascara, so femme. ;-) Prada really channeled a modernized “Twiggy” look for their most recent show. A lot less effort, more wearable for daytime, but still wide eyed and youthful. To get a look like this, layer on your mascara with a slightly heavier hand. Go with two separate mascaras to create a thick, slightly clumped look. Put on the voulminizing mascara first, heavy on the lash line and follow with a mascara designed to lengthen with a more precise wand. Femme Fetches: Dior Show Blackout Benefit They’re Real Maybelline Big Eyes- comes with two wands and much more affordable Calvin Klein CK ONE Mascara -comes in 5 shades, works great as accents on tips of lashes for a pop of color Be sure to go with a black mascara for the full drama, navy and brown tones will work fine for a more subtle look especially with fairer skin tones.
Praying to the fashion Gods that I look like the chocolate version of this on Tuesday for my photo session. I’m sure it won’t happen, but a girl can dream. So Femme!!!!
Femme Fetch: Iman Second to None Stick Foundation Currently loving my Iman Stick Foundation!!!! Totally believing in the power of more cream based foundations thanks to Bobbi Brown, MAC, and now Iman. This stick is great for all skin types and a number of skin tones. Iman Cosmetics isn’t just for “black” femmes it’s for a myriad of people looking to get better coverage options. The Iman Second to None Stick Foundation dries down to a velvet matte finish, which I love. If Iman Cosmetics can do anything it is definitely coverage and foundation. Will be picking up the their BB Cream soon for sure. So Femme!!!!
Femme Fetch: Alterna Bamboo Shine Luminous Shine Mist For having such a little amount of hair I manage to hoard a good amount of hair products and most don’t do much to impress me really. But I have to say that the Bamboo Shine Mist is my favorite hair product right now. I love it primarily for the light weight feel, non-greasy shine, and the fragrance. The stuff smells so amazing, like I can’t get over it. The Bamboo Shine product line is Eco- Friendly, which is great. The biggest drawback is the entire line seems a bit overpriced, but the products are solid none the less. So Femme!!!!
You’ll be MIne - The Pierces
The You and I album by the Pierces is definitely becoming my salvation right now. Loving the vocals and melodies throughout the entire album. Every femme goddess needs to freshen up their soul as well as their look from time to time.
Femme Fetch: Ben Nye Banana Powder and Mojave Contour Wheel Not sure why I haven’t tried the Ben Nye Banana Powder yet, but excited to finally see what all the fuss is about. I swatched a number of the luxury powders in different shades and the banana powder seemed to work best despite it’s distinct difference from my skintone. I find this powder to be awesome and oh so femme for setting your highlight. Ben Nye’s Mojave Contour Wheel was a great find for the price of $14 USD alone. Great shades for ethnic skin and I suggest everyone look into a contour wheel that corresponds with your skintone no matter what it is. The shades have great color pay off and blend well. Look for an updated foundation video with contouring and highlighting within the next week. Super excited, hope you are too. Be Bold, Be Femme!!!
How to Be a HeartBreaker- Marina and the Diamonds
Currently obsessing over this song, it’s certainly not new, but it has renewed life on my iPhone. I am so wanting to make a music video almost exactly like this!!!
NARS Cosmetics: Edie Sedgewick- Inspired Makeup Look
Really like this look using NARS makeup, but I have to be honest in saying don’t waste your money on the Eyeliner Stylos. I love NARS more than anyone else in the world, but the Eyeliner Stylos are so dry and spotty, worst liquid eyeliner I have ever tried.
On a positive note, I say really look into the lipsticks offered at NARS. They receive a lot of press for the multiples, blushes, and their foundations, but the lip shades are to die for.
