Great on all skin types and is  especially perfect for us oily femmes wanting a foundation to stay put all day. Also loving the Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation for day to day wear.

Femme Fetch: Makeup Forever Mat Velvet Foundation Makeup Forever is one of the most versatile and quality driven brands in the vastly populated world of cosmetics. The Mat Velvet Foundation along with just about every other product from the line is proof of the amazing-ness that is Makeup Forever. I am super obsessed with matte/ semi-matte finishes especially for us oily femmes and this foundation gives the most natural and fresh finish ever. Liquid foundation formulas can be scary for many, particularly many of us with problem skin, but no worries when using this foundation.  I like applying it with fingers, a wet sponge, my Aveda foundation brush, or a duo fiber/stippling brush for the most natural finish. The foundation wears all day and helps control shine without looking too dry.  Mat Velvet is medium coverage with the ability to be built for more coverage if needed, though I feel that takes away from the purpose of the product.  I highly recommend this foundation to anyone looking for a good amount of coverage with ability to possibly pass the foundation off as “good skin”. If you want something even lighter and more sheer try the Makeup Forever Face and Body Foundation.

Femme Fetch: Aveda Inner Light Foundation Brush I am so in love with this brush!!! Alot of the Aveda makeup is pretty “natural” a.k.a boring, but this brush is truly one of the best I have ever used. I have primarily used this brush with liquid formulas and it gives a pretty flawless finish. The brush is best suited for us girls who love sponge application. There is really no difference in the feel and finish in comparison to a wet sponge. Femme Fetch: Aveda Tourmaline Charged Exfoliating Cleanser I received the entire Aveda Skin Care Line when I started my esthetics training a few days ago and I am already forming some fiercely femme feelings about some of Aveda’s stuff. One of the obvious standouts is the Aveda Tourmaline Exfoliating Cleanser which is pretty impressive. This product has to be one of the most gentle exfoliators I have ever tried, second only to some of the Shiseido exfoliators. This product is effective for all skin types and gentle enough to be used daily. I love, love, love the fact that Aveda focuses on an all natural approach and being completely ”Green”, but I find the products to be extremely over-priced. I got the line free, but I can say that if you have to splurge on anything, this product is worth the expense.

Femme Fetch: Nars Cosmetics Powder Founation At this point, we are all aware of the Sheer Glow and Sheer Matte foundation formulas from the Nars Cosmetics line. You would have had to have been completely shut off from the beauty scene the past few months to have not heard the buzz or hype surrounding the Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer.  But I am hear to tell you that the Powder Foundation from Nars is amazing and is usually my go to daytime foundation. I actually find that alot of people shy away from powder formulas. For us oily girls, powder is an obvious choice over wrestling with liquids that claim to finish matte.  This particular foundation from Nars ,unlike the “Sheer” ones, offers a SPF; it’s only 12, but that’s better than nothing. I also find that I get good coverage that is far more natural than liquid plus no need to set with powder. Femme fatales are always on the go which works with this foundation because of it’s compact packaging. This foundation can serve as a setting powder for your liquids also. Remember that versatility is key.  So Femme!!!!
