Makeup Submission: Ombre eye done with Sugarpill and Tokidoki shadows :)

Femme Boy: Very nice work, girlie!!!! Nice blending at crease and I love the sharp edge from corner of eye to brow, I feel like it makes eye makeup look very clean and striking. Think Grace Jones, makeup with strong defined lines.

Femme Fetch: Bare Escentuals Flawless Definition Mascara

Thanks to a care package from Planet Beauty. com, I got to try out the Bare Escentuals Flawless Definition Mascara. I honestly would have never tried this mascara otherwise, but I was pleasantly suprised. I am a sucker for packaging and glamourous advertising which Bare Escentuals isn’t necessarily known for. But all that matters at the end of the day is the results and this mascara delivers. This is an ideal mascara for defined and separated lashes. Can be worn for a natural everyday look best, but drama can be achieved with a few extra coats.

MAC Mastering Mascara

I am big on using different mascaras for  a full on “femme” effect. I also love the use of liner in small strokes on the bottom lash line for more drama.

Zoom Fast Black Lash and Haute and Naughty are the best mascaras from MAC for a full on drag, Kim Kardashian look.

Ok girlies, let’s talk mascara. I am obsessed with mascara mainly because it is one of the few quick and easy products that can transform the face in an obvious way with little effort. Mascara is easy and affordable for everyone. The most femme-tastically fierce thing about mascara is it’s ability to work on all femme divas and add instant drama to the eyes.

I am wanting to try some new mascaras out. I feel I have tried plenty, but I am curious about L’oreal, Lancome, and Yves Saint Laurent. I am obsessed with MAC’s Haute and Naughty, Maybelline’s Falsies, Dior’s DiorShow, and the Revlon 3D Volume already.

What are some great new mascaras I can try out? Which ones are the staples of your collection?

theinsidesofclouds-deactivated2 asked: First off I wanna tell you that I absolutely LOVE your blog and all the beauty tips u blog about. It really gives me so many ideas because I always felt limited with make-up choices because of my darkskin but now I'm starting to embrace all my features. :) so i wanted to ask your advice on making my asiatic eyes pop? Also I wanted to know if u had any blush recommendations besides torrid (love it btw) Thanks in advance!

First off, thanks for the follow and the support, I really appreciate it!!!! I truly believe that dark skin is a gift because we can pull off some looks that so many others can’t. I do understand feeling limited, years ago when i first got into makeup I felt lost and it seemed like nobody could help me pull off all the hot looks I wanted.  Well I am happy to pass some knowledge to a sexy deep colored girl!!!!!

I believe highlighting is one of the things that helps eyes pop the most. My eyes are a bit smaller then I would like so I understand. I use MAC Pure Pigment in Vanilla right in the inner corner of my eye by the nose, it will work wonders. Lining the top lid with a black eyeliner, but not the bottom and using an amazing mascara works also. MAC’s Haute and Naughty will give you dramatic Kim Kardashian Lashes or you could try some of Maybelline’s mascaras if you are hard up for cash. I also say keep eyebrows filled in and neat, this creates a good structure to the face.

Blush recommendations:

  • Dolce Vita by NARS
  • Taj Mahal by NARS
  • Palm Beach Multiple by Nars(this stuff is great as a bronzer and highlighter)
  • G Spot Multiple by NARS
  • Love Joy Mineralize Blush by MAC
  • Raisin Powder Blush by MAC
  • Exhibit A by NARS (very intense so apply lightly, but is so hot when done right)

I like to take a cream bronzer or deep bronze tone and place it on the cheek bones and then take powder blush and place it on top, don’t be too heavy handed though. Trust me, this will look so amazing!!!!

Palm Beach is the best cream bronze shade, and you can almost place any color on top and it will warm the skin. Just remember that you want the skin to look warm, not rosy, because our cheeks don’t get rosy, it will look unnatural.

So I hope I gave you some tips you can use. If you need anything else let me know. Feel free to comment on my post and let me know what you like and don’t like. Video tutorials will be coming soon, so stay tuned. Love ya!!!!

Watching the commerical for the New Maybelline Mascara, has me wondering. I have to admit that I am a bit of a makeup snob, usually only going for department store brands of makeup, but when in a bind Maybelline’s mascaras have always delivered. I am talking sometimes better than the high end lines respective mascaras. I have tried everything under the sun and I always find myself coming back to try out Maybelline’s new stuff. Now don’t expect Dior Show or MAC Haute and Naughty results, but you definitely get what they promise. I will definitely be giving my verdict on this new Great Lash Lots of Lashes Mascara in the future. Stay tuned.

FEMME-Tastic Tips for the FEMME-savvy Girl:

Mascara has a short shelf life, remember to grab some new mascara every 3 months.

Never, i repeat, never pump your mascara wand up and down, it dries it out faster.

Also remove excess product from the wand with a tissue before using, helps reduces clumps.
