Femme Fetch: MAC 163 Flat Contour Brush
I am currently obsessing over this brush. I havent purchased it yet, but I am dying too. I honestly believe it is the ultimate contouring brush specifically for creams. The shape will create a strong line but the stiffness of the bristles will help blend the cream down. Not sure about this brush for powder contouring, but I am sure it’s fine. I think I would favor the NARS contouring brushes for powder.

Winks by Georgie Beauty
I recently got some amazing lashes from the beauty company, Georgie Beauty. I normally wear standard cheap lashes from the local drug or beauty supply stores, but I think I may have been converted with these.
Winks by Georgie Beauty Lashes are:
Eco-friendly, PETA Approved, vegan certified and dermatologist tested
hand made and can be worn multiple times
USDA certified organic blue chamomile to help soothe delicate skin
non- irritating lash adhesive
The lash adhesive really feels great and is not as frustrating to remove at the end of the day. I love the femme-tastic selection of lashes. You can get a soft, day time look or go for full out drag. While these lashes may be a bit pricier, I really think they are well worth it.

Check the link and order a pair for yourself (also sold at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom), I suggest the No. 4 La Vie Charme or the No. 3 La Starlette lashes. I say go big or go home.
So Femme!!!!
( I will be doing a video tutorial for lash application with the Winks Lashes in the next week, so stay tuned.) Winks by Georgie Beauty

Femme Fetch: Aveda Tourmaline Charged Exfoliating Cleanser
I received the entire Aveda Skin Care Line when I started my esthetics training a few days ago and I am already forming some fiercely femme feelings about some of Aveda’s stuff. One of the obvious standouts is the Aveda Tourmaline Exfoliating Cleanser which is pretty impressive. This product has to be one of the most gentle exfoliators I have ever tried, second only to some of the Shiseido exfoliators. This product is effective for all skin types and gentle enough to be used daily.
I love, love, love the fact that Aveda focuses on an all natural approach and being completely ”Green”, but I find the products to be extremely over-priced. I got the line free, but I can say that if you have to splurge on anything, this product is worth the expense.

Femme Fetch: Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30
I spoke about my cleansing soap a few posts back and feel it’s only appropriate to move into talking about my moisturizer. I initially got into this particular brand a few years back because of my frustration with department store prices, especially with moisturizers. It’s very femme-tastic to splurge on yourself, but not to the point of absolute poverty. So this moisturizer seemed like a nice affordable option, retailing around the $15 mark.
This product claims to help visibly reduce the appearance of dark spots, which I feel it does,  but it’s gradual process. I also love the SPF 30 factor, because in trying to reduce dark spots you must protect skin from the sun. Sometimes the sun almost works against products intended to lighten or brighten the skin.
I really love this moisturizer because it is a perfect balance for my skin. The stuff is not to oily, but not so weak it leaves me feeling like I still need to moisturize. Great product for oily femmes!!!

Femme Fetch: Ambi Cocoa Butter Cleansing Bar
Thought I would share with you guys what I use to cleanse my face on the regular basis. The Ambi Cocoa Butter Cleansing Bar is probably one of the top 3 facial cleansers I have ever used and I have tried soooooooo many. I am talking Neutrogena, NARS, MAC, Garnier, Iman, Clean & Clear, and the list goes on.
The bar claims to visibly reduce dark spots which is a concern for many women of color. The entire Ambi line is designed with women of color in mind, but I think some of the products are universal. The Cocoa Butter Cleanisng Bar is appropriate for all oily skin types no matter what race. The bar cleans but doesn’t dry the skin out which is important for us oily femmes. Taking all the oil out of skin is the worst because the skin doubles the production of oil to make up for the lose.
All in all, the product has worked great for me for about 2 to 3 years now, I haven’t wanted to try anything else. The best part is this bar only retails for $2.

Makeup Remover ?
Okay so I usually use the Clense off Oil from MAC but I am wanting a different more cost effective makeup remover. Specifically a remover good for waterproof mascara.
Any suggestions?

FEMME BEAUTY- Natural Face

I believe it is important to develop a confidence in your looks without all the smoke and mirrors. Loving who you are is vital, you don’t want to get tied into makeup or begin to rely on it. So here I am, no makeup.

It is a hell of a lot easier to be comfortable without makeup if you take care of your skin.

So here are some products I love.

  • Ambi Cocoa Butter Cleansing Bar- supposed to help reduce dark spots and discoloration, which can be a concern, especially for us colored girls, lol.
  •  Neutrogena Visibly Even Moisturizer- this stuff was supposedly designed to address discoloration also, but i like the feel of it, it’s not to greasy. I have oily skin so that is a concern. Also it has SPF 30 cause we all need protection from the sun.
  • Rosebud Strawberry Lip Balm- I like the way this stuff smells and it last forever. My ex boyfriend used to love this stuff. a bit pricier than Car-max or standard chap stick but totally worth it.
  • St. Ives Apricot Scrub- Nice strong exfoliating scrub and affordable. Necessary for everyone to have a good scrub and is a vital step after shaving, I share a link about shaving mistakes in a previous post.
  • MAC FIX +-I love the way this stuff feels. I spray it on on to finish off my makeup but some days i spray it on my bare face. It gives a bit of soft moisture without looking greasy. I think it just balances the skin and gives a nice look.

All the stuff mentioned is affordable, but if you have money to blow I suggest the NARS line of skincare. My favorites are the cleansing milk, balancing lotion, foam cleanser, and the mud mask.
